Director Paul Schneider has a proven track record with sensitive TV movies about the heartache and problems of growing up as an American teenager. He excelled with Babycakes, starring actress-turned-chat show queen Ricki Lake as an ugly duckling schoolgirl. Here it's the turn of Alyssa Milano to face up to the perils and promise of senior prom night. The comic results, while predictable, are well handled by all concerned. Look out for Cheers and Frasier star Kelsey Grammer in a supporting role.
