This excellent Disney film was based on actual events surrounding the 1968 American baseball series. Roy Scheider, as a rather cynical member of the Detroit Tigers team, is convinced that winning a pennant in his final season is an impossible task - until a little boy convinces him otherwise. A sensitive and warm story that is thankfully free of sentiment.
