A pretentious, rather avant-garde, somewhat improvisational and wholly boring love triangle involving a man with the hots for his best friend's wife. She led him on unforgivably the night before the wedding and is obviously dying to sleep with him throughout the film. Poor stream-of-consciousness performances by Meg Tilly, Craig Sheffer and Eric Stoltz reflect badly on director Rory Kelly and do little to alleviate the tedium. Once again, the talented Adrienne Shelly is completely wasted in a minor role: another backward step for a distinctive actress seemingly unable to get the right roles. She's just one of a good up-and-coming cast (including Quentin Tarantino) who had to look elsewhere for their stardom breaks after this. Multo bad language here, by the way, will offend those who object to that sort of thing.
