Anyone picking out Alicia Silverstone as a star of the future from this deadbeat drama merits a credit in clairvoyancy. Silverstone's a dissatisfied young wife living in a burg where half the population seems to be teenage marrieds with babies. 'We're kids playing mothers to kids,' wails one, though that doesn't stop them going out on the town and bonking on the beach with the local studs while youthful dad stays at home changing the nappies. Unnecessarily vicious violence, heavy-duty sex, overwrought performances and not a sympathetic character in sight: all this and director Ralph Bakshi's habit of holding half his scenes too long will place considerable demands on your staying power.
