A charming children's film based on a story by Mark Twain. Bizarrely, it stars Cheech Marin, once of the cult comedy team Cheech and Chong. Here, he plays the ghost of a long-dead Spanish explorer who begins to haunt Charlie (Trenton Knight), the son of the archaeologist (Anthony Edwards, who also directs) who dug up the Spaniard's bones. And as dad is too busy to help his son deal with child angst situations - such as loneliness and being bullied - the ghost takes him under his wing and helps him out. In return, the boy must try to give the explorer's bones a decent burial. The only problem is that they are in a glass cabinet in a museum. Good fun, and the supporting cast includes Linda Fiorentino - although she's totally wasted as the family maid.
