A rare quality film from producer Menahem Golan who, with his cousin, Yoram Globus - dubbed the `Go-Glo Boys' - produced a slew of dire cut-price action movies under the Cannon Films banner. This family adventure was the first film Menahem produced after the pair ended their partnership. Ben Kingsley is the only person you will recognise from the cast: he really shines in the pivotal role of an animal hunter trekking across Brazil to sell four monkeys to raise the money to marry his lady-love. It's a story with several messages - the value of true love, respect for animals and genuine humans. Great fun and a picture-postcard view of a tropical paradise filled with bright-coloured toucans, snakes and other wildlife.
