One of Jean-Claude Van Damme's best bouts of mayhem, this engaging sci-fi action thriller gets a huge lift from its time-travel plot. Nipping back to the past from 2004 to prevent power-hungry elements from altering the course of history, TimeCop Van Damme finds he has a chance not only to end the plans of a corrupt senator but also to reverse the death of his own wife in 1994. Van Damme fans can just enjoy their hero strutting his fisticuff stuff and director Peter Hyams sets a blisteringly fast pace.
