Matrix Ladies Kick Ass
The film's actresses applaud the strength of their characters. The new Matrix film is doing wonders for feminism, according to its female stars.
Carrie-Anne Moss, who stars in all the films, has described her admiration for her character, Trinity:
"The first time around,
Carrie-Anne Moss
Jada Pinkett Smith
The Matrix
The Matrix Reloaded
The Matrix Revolutions
April On Modern Greats
Matrix Finale
Matrix Moss A Mother
Matrix Makers' Tough Choice
Then she goes onto explain how impressed she is with the female characterisation in the films:
"Then to have gotten to play her through not just being the girl who kicks ass, but also in Revolutions, all of the women have so much heart and soul, and they're strong, and it's not like they're just one-dimensional."
Her co-star in the final film, Jada Pinkett Smith who plays Niobe agreed:
"I think every woman has strength in her own way," she claimed in a very Hollywood way at a news conference in Los Angeles.
Before adding:
"So to me and watching this movie and watching The Matrix, it's nothing unusual.
"Thank goodness that [writers/directors] Larry and Andy are connected enough to write the truth of who I believe women really are."
Charlie's Angels had better watch out.
