Joely Fisher
Born: 29th October 1967
Where: Burbank, California
Daughter of Hollywood couple Eddie Fisher and Connie Stevens, Joely began her showbiz career at twelve when she joined her mother on stage for a couple of songs.
Entertaining was in her blood, and her and sister Tricia Leigh Fisher joined her mother in a nightclub act, and travel became a part of her life as the act toured the world.
Schooling was sporadic, with many different schools and tutors, until high school when she and Tricia entered the Beverly Hills High School.
Joely joined with her mother and veteran comic Bob Hope to entertain the troops during the Persian Gulf War and made her TV debut in 1988 with Bob Hope's USO Christmas From the Persian Gulf - Around the World in Eight Days.
Several years later, Joely took television work, appearing in the family sitcom Growing Pains.
After additional guest spots on sitcoms like Blossom and The Golden Palace, in 1994 she was cast as a regular in the comedy Ellen, and remained there for four years.
In James L Brooks' I'll Do Anything, she was a Hollywood development executive and sparring partner of Albert Brooks.
Then in 1999, she starred opposite Matthew Broderick in Inspector Gadget, as well as headlining a touring company of the stage musical Cabaret.
Joely didn't know that she had another sister until sometime after she had seen Star Wars and was told that Princess Leia was her half-sister, Carrie.
