The seventh and youngest of the Culkin clan first got noticed in his own right as an 11-year-old actor in You Can Count On Me.
Rory - who had spend years playing younger versions of his older acting brothers - was the son of single mother Laura Linney in the 2000 movie.
"I judge a movie by the script, not by the budget.I guess I root for the little ones because they're the coolest."
This promising debut soon led to him playing the 10-year-old version of his brother Kieran in the witty Igby Goes Down.
Next he played Mel Gibson's son in M Night Shyamalan's supernatural thriller Signs, then appeared with Michael Douglas in family comedy It Runs In The Family.
In 2004, he starred in the teenage drama Mean Creek from first-time director Jacob Aaron Estes.
