Nasty parasitic aliens are turning people into zombies in this below-par sci-fi potboiler. It's a familiar tale (compare Invasion of the Bodysnatchers), and not given any new twists here by either the script or Stuart Orme's direction. It's also well-known territory for star Donald Sutherland as the man trying to combat the aliens. He was also the star of the 1978 version of Bodysnatchers. Although this is an old chestnut, it is based on Robert Heinlein's book of the same title, which, published in 1951, was the blueprint for all subsequent tales of insidious alien invasions. It's a shame this film couldn't have done the book more justice. Maybe they just waited too long to make it.
