Debut director Edward Burns also wrote, produced and stars in this witty look at life for Irish Catholics on Long Island, New York. The brothers of the title (Burns, Mike McGlone, Jack Mulcahy) all have women (Shari Albert, Maxine Bahns, Elizabeth McKay) troubles and there's more than a touch of Woody Allen-style agonising over relationships, religion and, of course, guilt. Appealing low budget comedy that, although rather talky, is both thoughtful and absorbing. TRIVIA/FACT: Apparently filmed at weekends at Burns' mother's house. Burns then went on to make She's the One with Jennifer Aniston and Cameron Diaz.
