More natural born killers. Half-way between Heavenly Creatures and Compulsion, although not as good as either, this Canadian film is about two teenage girls who, having known each other only a short while, move from soulmates to cellmates after killing an old lady for fun. Alicia Witt is remarkable as Bonnie, the loopier of the two girls - her friend Hillary (Renee Humphrey) is a rebellious misfit but Bonnie is a true psycho - but you'll find the grainy black-and-white of the prison scenes really annoying, and the film never gets inside the girls' ga-ga, self-obsessive, adrenaline-filled minds in the way that Heavenly Creatures did.
