A soundtrack album in search of a film, this saga of sex and soap, through the man-strewn lives of four black girls in America, headed by Whitney Houston, seems to go on all night. Sex is had at the drop of a hat and sems to last about 25 seconds, although, to be fair, a couple of the girls do complain about their lovers not taking their time. Monotonous is the word, as our ever immaculately made-up quartet lurches from one sexual crisis to another. The men for the most part stand around awkwardly, while dialogue is pitched at gutter level throughout. Watch, though, for the scene where Lela Rochon throws her knickers out of the bed. In the next shot she clearly has them on. That's what we call a foxy lady!
