Nuclear testing in the Fifties has long been the subject for some critical investigation and this Aussie thriller has no shortage of background material to inject into its fairly gripping plot. Colin Friels plays a cameraman who becomes aware of murky secrets surrounding his father's death, involving the mushroon clouds the British and Australian governments cast over the outback. Though the movie doesn't always convince, things are kept ticking along like a Geiger counter, and Jack Thompson and Donald Pleasence provide stalwart support.
