Tender and touching Sapphic drama helmed and written by sisters Alex and Sylvia Sichel. It has a wonderful central performance by Alison Folland as the gauche and sexually ambivalent Claude, whose best friend is sexy and sassy Ellen (Tara Subkoff). When Ellen finds a beau, Claude is exposed to the big urban jungle of New York. Claude's dilemma of coming of age and `coming out' is handled with a subtle candour more associated with the European cinema. Full marks for the Sisters Sichel, and three stars from us.
