Kiefer Sutherland makes an accomplished cinema debut as director with this oddly named chase thriller about a crime gone wrong. In a restrained performance that works to the film's advantage, Vincent (Palookaville) Gallo plays a petty crook trying to retire with his girlfriend (Kim Dickens), but whose plans are ruined by a trigger-happy hoodlum pal (Sutherland). With the cops and the Mob on their tail, one thing's for sure - you know they won't live happily ever after. Interestingly plotted rather than action-packed, and featuring appearances by Rod Steiger and Martin Sheen, this is not just a curiosity but a thoughtful and satisfying drama.
