Jobbing television stalwart Arthur Allan Seidelman, who directed episodes of Fame, Hill Street Blues and Knots Landing, manfully tackles a blandly tearful TV movie, with Meredith Baxter and Patricia Heaton as sisters whose world is changed by the arrival of a mysterious elderly lady (singer Della Reese).
This sugary, if good-natured, story - in which the family is brought closer together as the old woman tries to get her belated slice of justice - remains tame and sentimental.
But there's very competent acting from the three leads, and a grown-up-looking Anna Chlumsky (My Girl) is an asset as Baxter's 15-year-old daughter.
