The actor first attracted attention as Dennis Buggit in Lasse Hallstrom's The Shipping News alongside Kevin Spacey and Judi Dench.
He made his small screen debut in the American TV series Sherman Oaks and his first-time feature outing with a minor role in Pleasantville in 1998.
"I think if I could be any superhero, it'd probably be my mom...but I don't think I'd look too good in high heels, so it's not gonna happen."
At the same time he began playing a regular role in Dawson's Creek as well as Roswell High.
Behr's next big screen role was in Victor Salva's drama Rites of Passage followed by The Shipping News.
Recent work includes Sarah Michelle Gellar's boyfriend in the American remake of the Japanese chiller The Grudge.
