A fascinating true story about a Russian serial killer, focusing on the efforts of a forensic scientist (Stephen Rea) to nail him. The film's tense, pacy and packed with riveting detail that make you sit up in your armchair till the very end. A star-studded cast includes Donald Sutherland and Joss Ackland as Rea's superiors, and Imelda Staunton as his wife. Perhaps unsurprisingly, none of them manages a decent Russian accent, but Rea is quietly impressive.
