Jimi Mistry

Born: 1973
Where: Scarborough, Yorkshire, UK

Soon after leaving Drama School, Jimi got his first break as the rebellious son Tariq in the successful stage play, East Is East at The Royal Court Theatre.

After a short turn as DR. Fonseca in the soap EastEnders, Jimi reprised the role of Tariq in the Bafta winning film version of East Is East.

Jimi appeared in Ismail Merchant's adaptation of VS Naipaul's The Mystic Masseur, before going on to play Ramu, a dance teacher who dreams of being the next John Travolta, in The Guru.
