A wickedly enjoyable satire on the media industry. It's based loosely on the bitter rivalry between Rupert Murdoch and Ted Turner, but here the competition between two media moguls (Gabriel Byrne and Ben Kingsley) gets out of hand when they both try to buy the same American Football team. Resorting to ever dirtier methods, the men's antics soon take their toll on colleagues and family around them. Byrne and Kingsley give incisive performances that smack just faintly of tongue-in-cheek, and a hearteningly sturdy supporting cast includes Illeana Douglas, Jeffrey Tambor, Kathy Baker, Mimi Rogers and ER's Alex Kingston. Richly entertaining.
