Fight Club

A 90's film of cult status and mind-blowing impact, Fight Club is a dark and violent film about a secret society that allows jaded men to indulge in bare-knuckle fighting. From the man who brought you Se7en.

The characters are intense and the story punctuated with frequent and graphic scenes of people beating each other to the point of bloody submission.

Director David Fincher successfully creates a frightening image of Norton's life before the Fight Club.

Depression, insomnia and frustration are expressed hauntingly and, combined with the excellent acting, this stylistic film is an anarchist's dream.

If the violence unnerves, or becomes even more unnerving when accompanied by vicious wit, that's only because it's meant to.

Fight Club jabs and weaves to keep you off balance, its controversial vision relieved by the unexpected humour.

Provocative and entertaining.

I've been holding off writing this review. Fight Club is currently my favourite film and the only movie that is better than the book. It is not just pretty actors slapping each other about. The film makes some serious statements about the role men play in modern society, the general feeling of redundency and the reliance on misplaced capitalist ideals. I cannot find fault with this flick. Unforgettable performances from all the cast combine with some killer dialougue and a gritty feel. Awesome.

Possibly the best movie of the nineties? Highly original and not to be missed. Watch alone and learn about Project: Mayhem. Why is it three stars above, that review is so positive.
