The Lake

A little touch of The X Files here. Baywatch's Yasmine Bleeth plays a nurse who returns to her home town to look after her terminally ill father. But dad makes a medically-impossible recovery and the rest of the townsfolk have changed too. It would seem some strange force has taken over the town... Okay, shades of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, but it's quite well done if no more ambitious than the average TV movie. A strong supporting cast includes Robert Prosky and Marion Ross (Richie's Mom in Happy Days). Eminently watchable. STAR SPOT: Child star Haley Joel Osment, soon to win world fame in The Sixth Sense.
