A disconnected, arty but occasionally affecting and disturbing portrait of Julien (Ewen Bremner), a schizophrenic boy who lives with his abusive father (Werner Herzog), brother (Evan Neuman) and pregnant sister (Chloƫ Sevigny). Made according to the principles of the 'Dogme 95' manifesto, the film inevitably looks grainy and out of focus, but the cast perform well.
