The former commercials director was catapulted onto the international scene with the visceral gangster thriller Sexy Beast.

The movie led to a best supporting actor Oscar nomination for Ben Kingsley as an unhinged underworld fixer plagueing Ray Winstone's retired criminal.

Glazer completed a degree in Theatre Design and Direction in the UK, before he began editing film trailers.

In 1993, he teamed up with producer Nick Morris at Academy Commercials, where he wrote and directed three short films, before moving on to direct music videos and adverts.

His work in the music field includes directing videos for Massive Attack, Blur, and Jamiroquai.

Glazer's debut - the critically acclaimed Sexy Beast - told the story of a retired gangster who must return to the underworld for one last heist.

Away from the big screen, Glazer landed a host of awards for the Guinness advert with the white horses riding the waves.

Returning to feature work, his second outing was Birth, starring Nicole Kidman as a widow who meets a 10-year-old boy claiming to be her late husband.
