After Ironside, Raymond Burr went back to familiar territory here, playing a lawyer (before, of course, going back to the bar for a new series of Perry Mason TV movies). The fairly minor difference between Mallory and Mason is that the former, has a rather tarnished (but, of course, unwarranted) professional reputation. The rather journeyman plot - Mallory defends a prisoner accused of murder - is lifted somewhat by a quality supporting cast that includes a pre-Star Wars Mark Hamill as the accused, Robert Loggia and A Martinez. A solid, if unremarkable crime drama.
