White collar crime thriller of the type that the Australians do so well, but alas, this is not one of the better ones. Bryan Brown, looking more and more like Michael Caine, plays a shady insurance adjuster adjusting more than his fair share of claims. Into his corrupt world falls naive young clerk Tom Long who quickly gets involved with both the fake claims scheme and Brown's femme fatale associate, Claudia Karvan. It looks stylish and sounds OK, but too many strands come loose in the plot to convince.
