This gripping, welcome sequel to the super 1995 chiller makes the most of its Terminator-style plot and provides a welcome opportunity for another lip-smacking turn from Christopher Walken as the bad fallen angel Gabriel. He's back on Earth to try to kill the half-human child of doctor Jennifer Beals and nice angel Russell Wong. A must-see for all fans of Walken and The Prophecy, with more of the same tasty mix of exciting, sometimes gory action, compelling religious detail and eye-catching, carefully-engineered special effects. Brittany Murphy and Eric Roberts boost the supporting cast. Part 3 followed in 2000.
