Scary Movie

Another parody of modern horror teen-flicks. The first time around the send-ups targeted Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer and The Sixth Sense.

The sequel moves on to spoof supernatural thrillers like The Exorcist or the more recent The Haunted.

A dodgy college professor (Tim Curry) invites his class to come with him to a haunted house in exchange for better grades.

Cue a deformed caretaker with roving hands, a foul-mouthed parrot and a skeleton demanding sex.

It's all crazy stuff featuring spoofs from The Exorcist, with James Woods as the old priest and Natasha Lyonne as the 'sickly' girl. Tori Spelling also stars, as a sexy teenager looking for some spooky action.

Scary Movie 2 is a Wayans Brothers enterprise, starring Marlon and Shawn and directed by brother Keenen.

He borrows liberally from other films too, including Friday The 13th, Ghostbusters, American Pie, Charlie's Angels and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

If you know your recent Hollywood films well you'll enjoy the references. If not, you may feel a little left out.

Last year Scary Movie, made for £15m, took a whopping £30m its first weekend in the US, beating thrillers like The Perfect Storm.

A second time around the film-makers spent nearly £30m, which boosted the movie's special effects and paid for stars such as James Woods and Tori Spelling.

Scary Movie was filled with in-your-face jokes about bodily functions and sex acts. Scary Movie 2 is not much different.

Test audiences in America found the film funnier. A success, since the team behind it said the only way to top the original was to keep people laughing.

But the style and humour is for a particular audience of younger people, who know what they like, as opposed to an older crowd who don't need me to tell them to give this sort of thing a wide berth.

Not much of a jump from the first title but still gives you a hell of a laugh. Keenan Ivory Wayan's funny script brings in more colourful characters and funny moments. All star cast and action sequences featuring clips from the Nike commercial and more headers to big movies like 'The Exorcist' and 'Save The lLast Dance'. If you liked the first movie and are a fan of slapstick comedy featuring the Wayans brothers, then no doubt you'll love this movie.
