Harris's portayal of doomed Joy Division vocalist Ian Curtis in 24 Hour Party People put him on the acting map.

Previously, his only feature experience had been opposite Sean Bean in Esme Lammers' gentle Tom & Thomas.

Following TV appearances in The Bill and Casualty, he landed parts in TV movies Signs and Wonder and It's A Mug's Game before the big screen beckoned.

He starred opposite Stephen Fry in Jeroen Krabbe's The Discovery of Heaven and played a hospital caretaker in the British psychological thriller Trauma with Colin Firth.

Recent work includes the British chillers Creep and Asylum, based on the novel by Patrick McGrath.
