A raucous, rowdy, bawdy college comedy with randy collegiates as its heroes and redneck night-clubbers as its villains. Although crude in its sentiments, dialogue and 'story' content (complete with the famous shower scene), it certainly isn't dull - thanks to the pacily-crafted direction of Bob Clark. A huge success at box-offices worldwide, it has a few good guffaws, although one could do with more. Unlike the similarly raunchy American Pie 20 years later, though, few of its young players went on to become popular stars. However, fans of Sex and the City will spot a young Kim Cattrall as one of the girls. A remake is being made this year.
