A harrowing, exciting war film, set largely in the Burmese jungle, with Gregory Peck as a nerve-shot pilot trying to get himself and his wounded navigator back to safety after their plane has come down in uncharted territory. Eric Ambler's script agonisingly recreates the novel by HE Bates.
