After a sticky beginning, both Henry Fonda and Katharine Hepburn relax into their roles (for which they both won Oscars) of a crusty 79-year-old professor and his 10-years-younger wife, spending their 48th summer together at their holiday fishing lake.
And Jane Fonda has what amounts to little more than a cameo role as the daughter with whom the old man has failed to communicate for 40 years.
Superb and unbearably touching.
