A French-Italian-West German co-production thriller that strongly echoes the known facts of the Ben Barka affair of October, 1965. The villains are painted pretty black; Michel Bouquet, Phillippe Noiret and Jean Bouise are the kind of characters you wouldn't trust an inch and director Yves Boisset adds a few visual Hitchcock touches. There's also a fine score from composer Ennio Morricone.
