Stylish, inventive comedy-thriller, with Dirk Bogarde as a super-brain, involved in code-breaking and dodging double-agents. Director David Greene, responsible for such diverse entertainments as The Shuttered Room and Godspell, sets the right note from the beginning, spicing the thrills with sophisticated laughs - notably in Sebastian's army of girl secretaries, all with pencils poised to put down his thoughts - and setting it all in motion at a cracking pace. You can spot Ann Sidney (former Miss World), Donald Sutherland and disc jockey Alan Freeman in minor roles.
