A made-for-television thriller directed by the young Steven Spielberg in the days before he moved on to such colossal cinema hits as Jaws, Raiders of the Lost Ark and E T. Just in case you leap to the conclusion that the title indicates a film about primitive life in the raw, perhaps it should be said at once that it's no such thing: it refers, in fact, to a network television journalist named Savage. When a woman mysteriously dies soon after offering to sell him a photograph involving her and a noted judge, Savage starts digging into facts. A strong supporting cast includes Louise Latham (memorable as Tippi Hedren's mother in Hitchcock's Marnie) as the judge's wife, Barbara Bain (real life wife of the star) as the producer of Savage's TV newscast, and guest star Barry Sullivan as the judge.
