There's a meaty film drama waiting to be made about the phoney religious sects that ruin people's lives while filling their own pockets. Until the definitive article comes along, this Canadian film will at least serve to remind us of the dangers. Nick Mancuso, in the central role of the convert, gives a superb performance, but never seems the type to succumb so easily to so little.
