This television film started life as a two-part episode of the Barnaby Jones series. Hence, Buddy Ebsen is seen in his familiar role as the analytically-minded private investigator. In this story, Barnaby becomes involved with the re-investigation of a case of kidnapping and murder. Marj Dusay is cast as the woman whose attempted suicide sparks off the affair, Hank Brandt is her husband who was convicted of the crime, Hal England plays a television reporter and Dabney Coleman portrays a real estate dealer whose son was the victim. Also prominent are two stalwarts of TV movies and both expert at playing villains Bradford Dillman and Robert Webber.
