Episodic but extremely engaging escapade dealing with a true meeting between a milkman called Melvin (portrayed by a fine but now almost forgotten actor called Paul Le Mat) and the film and business tycoon Howard Hughes, played in typically irascible fashion by Jason Robards. Like other films by director Jonathan Demme (Last Embrace, The Silence of the Lambs and Citizen's Band), it is full of fascinating characters. As Melvin's wife, Lynda, Mary Steenburgen won an Oscar.
