This series of bizarre journeys into an unknown dimension is very much a curate's egg. Its four stories are all made by different directors, the best effort being a gentle little tale from Steven Spielberg about a group of old folk made young again by a roguish old black man. But the last episode is the most exciting, with John Lithgow going splendidly to pieces as the only passenger who can see a malign and destructive gremlin on the wing of his plane in mid flight. Despite the original '15' certificate, the highly-coloured 'trip' could cheerfully be recommended for all sturdier children of secondary school age. Just be prepared for the odd monster or two.
