With some 75 former Hollywood stars making cameo appearances, this is an affectionate satire on Rin Tin Tin. Bruce Dern and Madeline Kahn are pleasant leads, and the canine is talented enough to have been given more of the film. Certainly the funniest sequence is when the dog, down on his luck and taken to drink, tries to commit suicide. It only remains to say that Ann Miller, Cyd Charisse, Gloria De Haven and Rhonda Fleming still look quite dazzling.
