The film that was meant to make James Darren a star, but didn't. Unfortunately, his rather dull character in this drug-peddling crime thriller is surrounded by particularly colourful ones, notably Burl Ives as a liquor-soaked ex-lawyer and Ricardo Montalban as one of the nastiest screen gangsters ever on screen.
