Craggy Tom Skerritt played one of the three zany Army surgeons in Robert Altman's smash hit, M*A*S*H. Although Elliott Gould and Donald Sutherland successfully reached stardom as a result, Skerritt got left behind. Since then, he has contributed strong performances to a large number of rather weak films, as well as the box-office hits Alien and Top Gun. His film career, however, has remained unlucky, in contrast to his extraordinary success advertising `Guess' jeans which has left him lost for words. In this movie, which was planned to grab the Dr Kildare mantle and lead to a weekly series, Skerritt returns to matters medical as the director of interns attempting to keep the peace in a hectic city hospital. Okay, but nothing more.
