Film murder mysteries that is a throwback to the days of the film noir, even with all its 18-certificate trimmings. Yachtsman Rob Lowe, having a steamy romance with boss's wife Kim Cattrall, soon steers himself into the calmer waters of an equally sensual romance with heiress Meg Tilly. She's loved from afar by local policeman Doug Savant, and hated from uncomfortably close by stepfather John Glover. You may think you can safely unravel the plot from here on, although you'll find the final link in the chain of crime is a knot that writer Dick Wolf is not too willing to untie. Performances are adequate, especially from the dreamlike Tilly and the predatory Glover, and John Barry's music helps a lot.
