Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise star in this poignant and involving comedy drama, which won Oscars for Best Film, Best Actor (Hoffman), Best Screenplay and Best Director (Barry Levinson).

Cruise plays Charlie Babbitt, a young hustler who kidnaps his autistic brother Raymond (Hoffman), after discovering Raymond's been left the bulk of their late father's $3million estate.

But then Charlie discovers that life isn't that simple... Cruise is pretty good but is outclassed by Hoffman in what is admittedly a more sympathetic and showy role.
