Horror obsessive and director of Hostel, Eli Roth, introduces Evil Dead II

Good clean fun for those horror fans who demand nothing more than a welter of blood, swivelling zombies and non-stop action and don't ask for a story that makes any kind of sense.

It's all, as the dialogue demonstrates, tongue-in-cheek (well, chainsaw-in-cheek anyway) and director Sam Raimi probably has it about right when he claims that 'we're just trying to give the audience a good time'.

As for the rest, Denise Bixler is far too dishy and talented to get killed in the first reel, and the rest of the cast give it all they've got.

That cabin in the woods is still infested with evil spirits and you may find their gruesome antics get to you in the end.

A great horror classic from the 80s, even though it's a remake of the first one. Bruce Campbell is marvellous as Ash, who goes through pain and strife fighting evil forces in a wooden cabin (while severing his own hand in the process).This movie has it all - marvellous humour, blood and gore and gruesome creatures. Director Sam Raimi has surpassed himself as one of the great horror masters - fantastic!!

Disregarding that horrible little interview, I say that the Evil Dead 2 isn't as everyone dismisses it as, a modern masterpiece of black comedy and gore, this film may be badmouthed by many critics and be rated as a punt '3 star chiller' but this is 5 star material. I don't care is Denise Bixler is dishy or whatever. This film defines an era. Groovy.

After accepting that the first movie was as amusing as it was scary, in this second movie he goes out to get the laughs and mix it with some good old fashioned gore. The character of Ash creates the most laughs as the cabin torments him to the verging on the insane, it's also in this movie where he starts to come out with the sayings that you still hear people quote today. This movie is well worth checking out. Groovy!
