The Entity
Modern single mum Carla Moran (Barbara Hershey) wakes up in the middle of the night to find herself being beaten and raped by an unseen presence. Shunned by her friends and family, who think she's mad, she seeks help from para-psychologists. Ron Silver plays the psychiatrist who believes her other-worldly claims. Disturbing stuff from Ipcress File director Sidney J Furie.

After reading the book I looked forward to seeing the movie. This is a good story told well, and is a well documented case, which is still happening to this day. The acting was excellent - Barbara Hershey is a great character actress in her own right.

This is both a good and scary movie with insight into the supernatural and what can happen from the beyond the grave to people in the living world.
I have seen this film many, many times and each time I see it, it just becomes more scary as you notice more details of the film.
It is a unique insight from one lady's point of view of things that had happened to her in the past and supposedly still happening to her to this veery day.

This film was based on a real story. The film itself is a classic in my eyes. You identify strongly with all the characters. You can truly believe that the entity does exist.
