This story of witchcraft and the supernatural combines facets reminiscent of Rosemary's Baby - in that a woman's destiny is to give birth to the son of Astroroth, the Devil, and of The Exorcist - in that a child is exorcised by a priest. It was written by Jimmy Sangster, particularly famous for his scripts for Hammer's horror films, and made by Paul Wendkos, one of the most prolific directors of films for television. His feature films include one in similar vein - The Mephisto Waltz.
