Alan Arkin takes over from Peter Sellers for this one comedy, chronicling the further adventures of the world's worst Sûreté detective, called in to circumvent a robbery. The British supporting cast, headed by Beryl Reid, Patrick Cargill and Frank Finlay, puts in some stout cameos, but Sellers proves a hard act to follow and, no doubt deterred by this laughless enterprise, Arkin retired from the Clouseau scene.
